Carl-Erik,

I think can be achieved by defining a smart collection in which one of the filters is "collection" and it refers to another smart collection. this way you will have nested smart collections.
The only thing that will not be optimal here is the fact that visually the collections tree will not be nested.

I think it should work but I havent tested it.

Great tip! Exactly what I was looking for.

Wish there was a way of specifying filters on the collection sets as well. Then you could have smart collections in the hierarchy under that further filtering the results.

Andrew,

it seems like you're right, I quiet sure there was a reason for this solution (it was the agreed solution for the problem in Lightroom Forums)... it might be that it didnt exist in earlier version... though i'm not sure.

bottom line, you're right. will update tutorial.

Actually, you can set a Smart Collection to Keywords>Are Empty. Don't need the whole aphabet.
